5 questions to Sandrine Boudaud
Internal Auditor for Employee Savings Plans.
1. Could you tell us a little about your career?
«I’m 37 and have a diploma in SME-SMI management support. I was not really destined to work in a large group and even less in a bank. I joined the Société Générale Group in 2007. I started in the accounting department for the Employee Savings Plan business line, then moved on to company and employee invoicing, then to contract management, and since 2015, I have been working for internal auditing: risk management through compliance, respect for laws, quality, etc. The banking world that I work in is a far cry from the preconceived ideas I previously had and that some people may have of our profession.»
2. Can you describe your role in three words?
«PRECISION: in my current position in internal audit, it is necessary to “delve into” the issues. When we get a case, we have to analyse it, be vigilant to the smallest detail, look for the regulation in force. Rigour and a taste for investigation are key to this position.
FAIRNESS: we work in an area where nothing is black or white. We very often have to decide on client cases where the answer is a shade of grey. It is only after risk analysis and assessment that we can take an impartial position.
VERSATILITY: this role allows me to deal with various areas: compliance, legal, marketing, customer relations, back office, product engineering… I have a lot of interaction with these departments, which is very rewarding every day.»
3. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
«I know that every day will not be like the previous one. I’m on an 80% contract, I car share and work from home too: every day needs its own organisation, there is no set routine for me!»
4. Sandrine, what’s your motto, your philosophy?
«"Nothing happens by chance!” I am a fatalist and very positive. I know that there is always something positive to get from every experience, and I am always ready to meet the challenges that life puts in my path.»
5. What are your interests in life?
«My main passion is enjoying simple pleasures! I love to get together with family, discover new places, play, cook with my children… I have also been involved in voluntary work since I was 15, and am currently treasurer of my children’s leisure and extracurricular centre. It’s important for me to contribute in my way to the community.»
