Early redemption in case of Marriage or civil partnership (PACS in France).

According to French law

Deadline: 6 months

Eligible schemes: PEE (company savings plan) / PEG (group savings plan) / PEI (inter-company savings plan)

Supporting documents to accompany the redemption request

Trigger event date: PACS date

  • Copy of birth certificate recording that a PACS civil partnership has been concluded
    • Or Certificate issued by the district court registrar or the notary who registered the formal statement
    • Or Copy of Paris high court register stating existence of PACS civil partnership (for foreign nationals born outside France)
    • Or Receipt for registration of a joint formal statement made by the civil partners issued by a notary, or by the French embassy or consulate that registered the formal statement of civil partnership

Trigger event date: marriage date

  • Copy of family register (livret de famille)
    • Or Marriage certificate
    • Or Copy of marriage certificate issued by a local registrar

Trigger event date: marriage date

French national

  • Copy of marriage certificate issued by a French embassy or consulate
    • Or Copy of marriage certificate issued by the central register office of France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Foreign (non-French) national

  • Copy of international family register (livret de famille)
    • Or Copy of marriage certificate issued by a foreign authority, accompanied if necessary by a sworn translation into French

Additional information

Conditions 

Release takes the form of a single payment, it cannot be phased or paid in instalments.

Excluded events 

  • Religious marriage
  • Cohabitation
  • Polygamy

Questions / Answers

Civil partnerships concluded outside France are recognised in France if the partnership is registered by a competent authority in the country where the partnership was concluded and if it is not against public policy.
