Management Controller in the Societe Generale Group Employee Savings Department

1.    Could you tell us a little about your career ?

« I am 42 years old and after accounting and financial studies (accounting and management qualification, and diploma and further diploma in accounting and financial studies), I joined the Societe Generale Group at the end of my end-of-study placement in the Foreign Securities department in Nantes. For four years, I worked with the Securities department in Paris as an accountant. I then joined the Accounts and Finances Management department within the Employee Savings department in Nantes for 10 years. Having taken the management course, I spent two years in Internal Control before joining Management Control within the Employee Savings Account Holding team two years ago.  »

2.    Can you describe your role in three words ?

« ANALYSIS:What I like about my job is the analysis of data, researching and understanding why we get this result, in order to be relevant, to make projections, to identify trends... I like to handle the figures, to “make them talk” and anticipate as much as possible! I also like creating monitoring tools that facilitate and simplify our daily work.

EXCHANGE & GLOBAL VISION : Throughout the year, it is important to know and monitor all developments and projects carried out by the department’s various employees. We need to succeed in “capturing” anything that could have a financial impact, whether it is regulatory, operational, commercial, etc. Communication is therefore essential to carry out our monitoring and enhance our overview of activity.  »

3.    What makes the job worthwhile ?

« My alarm clock :) Joking aside, I am happy to join my colleagues and start a new day. I like to anticipate the course of my day but sometimes, like everyone, it brings some surprises... We then need to adapt and be responsive! That’s what I like!  »

4.    Delphine, what’s your motto, your philosophy ?

« Nothing is impossible!’ I believe that there is always a way to achieve your goals, whether personal or professional. I’m naturally optimistic! Sometimes you have to be able to look at things differently, from a new perspective... »

5.    What are your interests in life ?

« It’s not very original, but my family of course. I have two children aged 14 and 11 and it is important for me just to spend time together. Sport is also essential for me as it is invigorating! I like to have a project in mind, whether an excursion, a trip, work on the house or the garden... I need to keep moving! »
